Il Quotidiano Sportivo newspaper, in this morning's print edition, published the following headline:
"Milan and Leao: first contacts to renew until 2030. And pressure increases on Maignan."
The Portuguese forward, who has been enjoying an excellent season so far, even in his new role as a central striker, has a contract that expires in 2028, and the Rossoneri club has already begun talks with his entourage in an attempt to reach an agreement through to 2030.
At Casa Milan, however, the priority at the moment remains extending the contract of Mike Maignan, whose deal expires at the end of this season and who will be free to negotiate with other clubs in a few weeks.
Compared to a few weeks ago, when negotiations and dialogue between the parties were frozen, there is now greater confidence of reaching an agreement, although the situation remains delicate. Milan are nevertheless pushing to reach an understanding with the French goalkeeper as soon as possible.
