The trip to Florence was damaging for Milan not only in terms of the result, but also on the injury front. In addition to Strahinja Pavlovic, who required nine stitches to his head after a very heavy collision with Comuzzo and is a major doubt for tomorrow’s rescheduled match against Como, Niclas Fullkrug was also forced to stop, having suffered a fracture to a phalanx in one of his toes.

This was reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, which adds that the fracture has already been reduced and that the German centre-forward, so far the Rossoneri’s only signing of the winter transfer window, is pushing to return to the pitch as soon as possible. Despite this, Fullkrug will miss the next two matches against Como and Lecce. His return is expected to come in Milan’s following league fixture, away to Roma on January 25. This is bad news for Max Allegri, who is already without Rafael Leão at full fitness, as the Portuguese winger is dealing with adductor fatigue, often a precursor to pubalgia.
Rafael Leao will have to grit his teeth, although there was at least some positive news in Florence with the return of Christopher Nkunku, who had missed two matches (against Cagliari and Genoa) due to a heavy knock suffered in Verona in Milan’s final game of 2025.
Will Nkunku stay at AC Milan?
The Frenchman, who scored the late equaliser at the Franchi, has been at the centre of transfer rumours in recent weeks, with Fenerbahçe pushing hard, but Fullkrug’s injury now strengthens his position within the squad.
