AC Milan secured a clinical and valuable 3–1 away win against Como, strengthening their hold on second place and confirming their unbeaten run on the road. Despite Fabregas’ side dominating the ball, finishing the match with 67 percent possession and twice hitting the woodwork through a rampant Nico Paz, Allegri’s team showed outstanding resilience and efficiency. Como took the lead in the 10th minute with a Kempf header, but Milan reacted late in the first half when Rabiot won a penalty that Nkunku converted, despite some tension with Leao, who wanted to take the spot kick himself.
After the break, Allegri reshaped the side by switching to a back five, and Milan capitalised on the hosts’ mistakes. Rabiot sealed a decisive brace, scoring in the 55th and 87th minutes, assisted first by Leao and then by Jashari after a ball recovery. Once again, Maignan proved crucial, producing at least four outstanding saves to keep the Rossoneri afloat during Como’s most intense spells of pressure.
With this victory, Milan extended their unbeaten run to 19 consecutive matches, a club-best sequence since 2005, and remain firmly in the Scudetto race. Como, meanwhile, suffered their first home defeat of the season but left the pitch to applause for the quality of their performance, as relayed via La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
