The BordoCam is available on DAZN, curated by journalist Davide Bernardi, for Milan-Lecce, the match valid for Matchday 21 of Serie A, won 1-0 by the Rossoneri. Let's discover together some of the behind-the-scenes stories told in the format.
The talk to Maignan
Among the motivations that pushed Maignan to want to stay with the Rossoneri, including signing a contract renewal, is also his athletic trainer. In the pre-match, Claudio Filippi gave the following speech to Mike Maignan:
"Listen to me, one fundamental thing: stay in the present, stay focused on what's happening right now. Whatever happened before, to the others, on the pitch, teammates, opponents, stay concentrated on your own things, do your things, like you did there at the end, for me that was fantastic. This, yeah, stay only on the match: important, Mike!"
First half
Throughout the entire first half, Allegri repeatedly asks his players to stay wide and seek width. However, the players on the pitch struggle to carry out the coach's requests. The manager frequently discusses it with; the Croatian, on the bench, is effectively acting as an assistant coach: Allegri turns around, talks to him, compares notes with him. Modrić often agrees with the coach and urges him on with his instructions.
Second half
In the second half, Milan keeps pushing offensively, managing to give their play the width that Allegri had been asking for throughout the first half. The discussions with Modrić continue, especially regarding the clarity of Saelemaekers' plays. On Ricci's shot, Falcone makes a great save and spontaneously reacts by saying: "What luck" ("Che culo"). Chances arrive, but no goal yet. And here comes Niclas Füllkrug ready at the substitution cube: there's a corner in favor of Milan and they want to wait, but the German shouts to the bench "Put me, put me" (i.e., "Put me in, put me in"), and the No. 9 comes close to scoring. On the chance missed by Loftus-Cheek, Allegri turns toward the bench and says: "We need a bit more venom/poison." All of this just a few seconds before Füllkrug's goal, which makes San Siro explode. The rest is waiting for the final whistle, with the usual "How much time left?", frustrations over some superficial defensive clearances, and Massimiliano Allegri's indication: "We have to score!"
