Fabrizio Romano, speaking during a live stream on his YouTube channel, discussed Aston Villa’s interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek. These were his words:
“It appears that Aston Villa have been in contact with the Stellar Group, who represent the player. There is ongoing dialogue between Aston Villa and Loftus-Cheek, but there has been no offer to Milan yet. There has been no discussion about a permanent deal, a loan with an option to buy, or a loan with an obligation to buy. We are not at that stage yet. There was a call because Kamara, a very important midfielder for Aston Villa and one of Emery’s secret weapons, has been injured. So, at the moment, Aston Villa’s idea is to add a midfielder."
"One of the names they are sounding out is certainly Loftus-Cheek, but from what I understand, Loftus has already begun talks, somewhat quietly, regarding a contract renewal with Milan. There is a conversation ongoing about an extension, but at the same time Aston Villa are calling. We will see whether the English club make an offer to Milan. We are still at an early stage."
