The real signing of Milan’s winter transfer window is Mike Maignan. Of course, the Frenchman is already wearing the Rossoneri shirt, but in the coming days he could commit his future to these colours for good, after last summer when his departure on a free transfer seemed almost certain and taken for granted, a blow Milan could not have afforded to suffer.

Thanks to the excellent behind-the-scenes work of Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare, Maignan has decided to embrace the Milan project once again, this time for the long term. He could even end his career in red and black, given that the contract extension is set to run until 2030 or even 2031. On this matter, Corriere dello Sport further underlined how close the agreement is, running the headline:
"Maignan, the signature in the coming days."
