The deal for Jean-Philippe Mateta to Milan is not done yet. In fact, in recent hours, after Crystal Palace had given the green light, new doubts have emerged on the Rossoneri’s side. Milan arranged medical tests for the French striker in London, and these raised some concerns about the condition of his knee, an issue the British club itself had already questioned in December, when a possible operation was considered.
As reported by The Standard on December 18, the player had been playing with knee discomfort and was considering surgery. In the end, nothing came of it and the player continued to play, featuring in nine matches from that moment to today.
Regarding these latest physical developments, Luca Bianchin, journalist for La Gazzetta dello Sport, reports that everything will be decided tomorrow, when the Rossoneri club will send a doctor to London for more thorough checks. This is the tweet from the Gazzetta journalist: "A Milan doctor will be in London tomorrow morning for a final check on the condition of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s knees. If he is medically cleared, JPM will join Milan immediately. Otherwise, the deal will collapse."
