Massimiliano Allegri was interviewed by DAZN after Bologna-Milan 0-3. Here are all his statements:
A big game from the attackers today. What points did you hit?
"They are very high-quality players. It was a match to take seriously, Bologna had come close in the standings. Another tough away game against a dangerous Bologna, and the boys were very good in both phases."
On the team’s offensive phase, Allegri commented:
"Tonight was a good performance, but I think we could have done even better. We need to work on these ball-management situations. More than management, it’s about precise and decisive plays. Tonight we played well because Loftus and Nkunku performed well upfront. We were able to release the ball both in depth and in tight spaces."
Is this the Milan base you want to see?
"It was a good performance, and reaching 50 points was important. Our objective, I repeat, is to stay in the top four, and it will be difficult because the season is still long. Even at 3-0 the boys stayed focused as a team and defended well: not conceding goals is always positive."
More important to be +7 over Roma or back to -5 from Inter?
"It’s more important to look behind because the league is still long, there are many points to earn to return to the Champions spots. We have to take it step by step. Let’s enjoy this break, since we don’t play on Sunday, and recover some energy, especially for players like Leao and Pulisic who will help us. It would be ideal to have all players available when we return next Friday against Pisa."
At the end, you really didn’t want to concede… Allegri said:
"That was important. We have young players with few matches, and they get carried away by enthusiasm. Pavlovic was moving around the field, and in those situations you carry the ball, you risk injury, losing duels… At that moment, you just have to manage the ball, preferably in the opponent’s half. The substitutes did very well: Jashari, Fullkrug, Ricci, Estupinan, Tomori… We should be satisfied, but starting Sunday, we have to focus on Pisa and the final push for the league."
Can you take advantage of playing fewer matches than rivals?
"They’ve always asked me this question. I would like to play many matches, but unfortunately we cannot this year. We will try to use the time we have to prepare matches as best as possible, aiming for a top-four spot because next year we have to play in the Champions League."
