Luka Modrić, as of today, is a resounding yes. His performances now may seem like a given, but not everyone had high expectations for the Croatian when he arrived in Milan last summer. Strange, right? Yet there are always some "haters" of players over 35, and that’s fair enough, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Milan, a big yes:
A master, a leader, an example. Call him what you like, but Modrić is a complete added value to Allegri’s Milan. With him, even Rabiot has managed to grow and transform alongside the Croatian. For the record, Modrić is 40 years old, and that will certainly be a key topic when discussing the former Madrid player’s future in Milan. But if this is the level of performance, the conclusions speak for themselves. A beacon in midfield, with a few understandable and very human dips in form between December and January. This is where Jashari’s role as Modrić’s backup becomes important, giving the Croatian a chance to recharge, something he has been doing so far, writes Milan News.
Modric, the assists man:
It has also been an important season from a statistical point of view. One goal (the decisive one in the 1–0 home win against Bologna) and three assists in the league so far. Modrić is a key factor, especially for his teammates. The ball is always at his feet: on set pieces, in possession play, and in breaking up opposition moves. Luka is everywhere.
What about Modric's future with AC Milan?
His future remains uncertain for now, but in a positive way. Much, if not everything, will depend on the Croatian’s physical condition and on what comes after the World Cup with Croatia. Milan’s position in the standings in May will also play an important role. Another possible scenario for Luka could be the dream of playing in the Champions League with Milan, the team he has always followed and supported since childhood.
