The Italian newspaper Tuttosport, on newsstands this morning, headlines the situation regarding the right central-midfield role at Milan as follows:
"Fofana, Ricci and Loftus: all of Max’s options."
In Milan’s midfield there are two undisputed starters that Max Allegri almost never gives up: Luka Modrić as the deep-lying playmaker in front of the defense and Adrien Rabiot as the left central midfielder.
As for the other spot in the middle of the pitch, the coach from Livorno has been rotating Youssouf Fofana, Samuele Ricci and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who have different characteristics but are all very useful to the Rossoneri cause.
Among the three, the one who has played the most so far is the Frenchman, while the one who has improved the most is undoubtedly the Italian midfielder, who arrived at Milanello last summer on a permanent transfer from Torino. Initially, Ricci was used by Allegri in front of the defense, but at the moment, as the Milan coach himself explained a few weeks ago, he performs much better as a central midfielder.
