Currently, Milan officially has thirteen players out on loan from the first team. Of these, eight could leave the Rossoneri if their current clubs decide to exercise the purchase option or if the obligation to buy is triggered. Considering all these variables, it’s already possible to start estimating, as Corriere dello Sport did this morning, the potential revenue from these loans, which could then be reinvested in the next summer transfer market, even though several months remain before then.

Certainties:
There are some players who are certain not to return to Milan next season. First and foremost, Alex Jimenez, loaned to Bournemouth in the Premier League: the Spaniard is impressing and has become an indispensable player for the Cherries, who are already considering exercising the purchase option and should make it official in the coming hours. The total amount is €25 million, but only €12.5 million would go to Milan, with the other half being sent to Real Madrid.
Then there’s the €15 million mandatory purchase of Alvaro Morata by Como. The purchase of Pobega by Bologna is also in a strong position: the Rossoblù club intends to pay the €7 million agreed upon. There’s also a good chance of cashing in on Samuel Chukwueze: Fulham is very happy with him but will need to decide whether to pay the €24 million buyout, which is not a small sum.
Uncertain:
There are four other players whose situations remain very uncertain. Lorenzo Colombo is performing very well at Genoa, and two of the three conditions for the €10 million mandatory purchase have already been met: he has scored more than five goals and made more than 22 appearances, with only the team’s survival left to achieve. The same objective, avoiding relegation, is the condition for triggering the €3.5 million mandatory purchase of Filippo Terracciano by Cremonese.
The situations of Bennacer and Musah are more complex. The Algerian is playing for Dinamo Zagreb when fit, but injuries often keep him sidelined, and it remains unclear if the Croatian club will invest the €10 million needed for his purchase. The American, on the other hand, is currently the least likely to be bought: limited playing time and unremarkable performances make the €26 million buyout option from Atalanta a difficult proposition.
If all these deals were completed, Milan would set aside €108 million. It won’t be easy to secure all of it, but even a large portion would already be a significant treasure.
