The sports daily Il Quotidiano Sportivo, on newsstands today, runs the headline: "Milan rediscover Pulisic in Pisa. Allegri keeps Leao on the bench." The ex Juventus head coach can smile at the return of Christian Pulisic, while he will still have to do without Alexis Saelemaekers. The American only has 15 to 20 minutes in his legs and will therefore start on the bench. Alongside him there will also be Rafael Leao, who is not yet at peak fitness either, and Niclas Füllkrug. The starting attacking pair will be the same as in Bologna, namely the duo made up of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku.
Yesterday, at the pre-match press conference ahead of Pisa-Milan, Allegri gave an update on the injured players:
"Pulisic trained with the group for the first time yesterday. He’s available but only has fifteen to twenty minutes in his legs. Leao is much better. Gimenez is even further along, in about a month he could be available. Saelemaekers will still be out, but he’s much improved; we’ll see if he might be available for the Como match."
