Massimiliano Allegri spoke to DAZN before the Pisa-Milan match. Here are all his statements:
Do you want to go into the derby 5 points behind?
"I think there’s very little to be done about that. The only thing to do is pick up as many points as possible, first and foremost for our own objective, which is the Champions League. And then we’ll see. Right now, Inter are coming off an endless series of wins. Out of 24 matches, I think they’ve had 19 wins, 4 draws, and one loss. They’re a team that’s moving very fast. We mustn’t lose sight of our own goal. Tonight is a difficult, complicated match. Pisa have always fought hard. They have a new coach, and that will be a motivation for everyone. We’ll need to play a serious match, one full of great respect."
What’s needed today?
"We have to play very well technically, with very high precision in our passing. They’re a physical team that comes right at you. We’ll need to be really good in exploiting spaces. Then we have to defend well on crosses, they have players who occupy the box very effectively. At Verona they had a favorable situation in the final minutes, so matches have to be won on the pitch. That’s the only thing that matters."
Pulisic, Leao, and Füllkrug on the bench… Do Nkunku and Loftus offer more guarantees? Allegri commented:
"If they’re feeling better and provide more guarantees, we’ll see that after the match (laughs). Leão is feeling much better; I was in doubt until the very end about whether to play him or not. Pulisic trained yesterday, he’ll get 15 or 20 minutes. Füllkrug is fine, and there’s Jashari… We have a strong bench. Up to now, the players who’ve come off the bench have always done well."
