Matteo Moretto, during a live stream on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, spoke about Luka Modric’s future.
Here's what he said about the Croatian star, whose contract runs until the summer of 2026:
“The contract expires in June, but there is an option, a plus-one, which unlike all other contracts favors the player. It is not the club that decides; Modric will choose at the end of the year which path to take. The news I can share today, which is actually fairly mild, is that this effort to convince him has already begun by Milan, on a daily basis."
Moretto continued to talk about Luka Modric:
"The coach, teammates, and management are trying to make him understand how important he is now and how important he will be for the future, at least for another year. Milan wants to keep him, wants to exercise this plus-one, and wants Modric to stay so that he can help the young players around him for the next season.”
