Franco Ordine, a well-known journalist, spoke to TeleVomero about refereeing errors in Serie A:
"There is only one thing on the report I do not agree with. In this season, there have been many errors, repeated, affecting many teams, not just Napoli. This is not a matter of good or bad faith. I believe this issue should be approached from a football perspective. When a team is not performing, the coach is changed. Right now, clubs should not be barking at the moon but should think about finding a solution to this series of errors.
There is no consistent guideline from start to finish. From handball fouls to penalty decisions, rules are adjusted during the season. Therefore, Rocchi needs to be replaced, period. Since the management did not work, the results are unsatisfactory, so the coach is changed. Rocchi provides a service, and if the football organization realizes it is not working, the service is replaced."
Ordine added:
"The major errors this season against Napoli were those in matches versus Atalanta and Juventus. On the other hand, I see only the penalty against Genoa and there is one major penalty. There is another point I want to emphasize: in the last five years, I see Lazio and Milan with over 20 red cards, while Inter has had only 5 red cards in the same period. Kalulu’s foul is a massive error by the referee; it is not a matter of bad faith, precisely."
