During one of his YouTube videos with Carlo Pellegatti, Sandro Sabatini spoke about the criticisms of Allegri regarding the gap from the first place in the standings already by the end of February. Here is what he said:
"I take it with irony, sarcasm, because in my opinion it is very instrumental. When you say this team could have done more, of course, everyone in their life, career, can do more, being aware that if I go running with Pogacar and keep up with him for the first 5 km, then I pay for it. The same thing Milan did. In the end, the strength comes out. And in this, they tell us 'Yeah, but you lost to Cremonese and Parma.' I say it because then it seems like I always defend Allegri, but to me Milan in the first half (against Parma, ed.) seemed very slow. This thing that Allegri thinks, that is, reaching your peak in the final minutes of the match, etc., it doesn’t always work."
