Ardon Jashari’s season remains a puzzle that is hard to read and fully understand. The weight of a long and complicated negotiation with Club Brugge KV, his strong desire to play for AC Milan, and the serious injury that has, in effect, shaped his campaign and much of his early journey in red and black. The Swiss midfielder has quality. He is comfortable on the ball, competitive in duels and, despite a clear assessment from Massimiliano Allegri who views him as a duplicate of Luka Modric, Jashari could also operate as a mezzala within Milan’s tactical setup. It is too soon for final judgments, yet a renewed focus on the Rossoneri number 30 is certainly warranted.
Initial difficulties
He arrived in the summer having barely completed pre season preparation with the squad, then suffered a serious injury in training. A heavy setback, which kept the Swiss player sidelined for almost the entire first half of the season. Moreover, to be completely honest, the outstanding performances of Luka Modric in the deep lying playmaker role have almost entirely closed off space for him.
Highlights and shadows, but with confidence
The assist for Rafael Leao against Como 1907 remains, so far, Jashari’s first and only real flash of brilliance this season. A 30 meter pass that allowed the Portuguese forward to beat Como’s goalkeeper, in a match that now carries regret and frustration. Jashari needs consistency, but he also needs patience. The weight of his transfer fee, high and costly, cannot and must not become a burden or a scapegoat. Young players need time. The example of Sandro Tonali comes to mind. Brescia demanded a very high fee, and his first season in Milan was subdued and disappointing. Then came the breakthrough and his rise to prominence in the title winning year. Jashari like Sandro? Yes. Because history teaches patience, writes Milannews.it.
