According to what has been reported by the Italy-based website MilanNews.it just recently, Matteo Gabbia had a consultation with Professors Ernest Schilders and Rowena Johnson at Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London. It was decided that he would undergo surgery to resolve an inguinal hernia issue.
The operation, carried out by Schilders himself in the presence of Dr. Mazzoni, was completely successful. The AC Milan central defender Matteo Gabbia is in fact doing well and will return to Italy as early as tomorrow to begin physiotherapy. The expected recovery time is approximately one month.
