Giacomo Bonaventura, former Rossoneri player and currently a free agent, has decided to hang up his boots. This is the message he posted on social media, shared by Gianluca Di Marzio on his X profile, to announce his decision:
"When you no longer feel the fire inside, I think it is the right moment. There is no point in continuing to play and drag yourself along, you risk no longer enjoying it, and I believe it does not make sense. When I started to feel this, I made this decision. The team I played for the most was definitely Milan: I stayed there for six years and probably played the most matches with them, and it is the team I feel most attached to. But I cannot fail to mention Atalanta and Fiorentina: each, in its own way, was an experience that gave me a lot and helped me grow a lot. In football, once you stop playing for two weeks, everyone already forgets. But I would like to be remembered as someone passionate about football, someone who worked hard and always tried to give his best, without shortcuts or tricks. I have always believed in hard work and always tried to give the best of myself."
