On his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has just spoken about the negotiations for André, a 2006-born player from Corinthians. These were his words:
"It's going to be an important week. From what I understand, we will not drag the André situation into the summer, into June or July. The André matter must be resolved now because AC Milan, in this situation, believes it has done its part. Milan had an agreement not only with the player but also with Corinthians. Let’s remember, he is a Brazilian box-to-box midfielder born in 2006. On André, Milan thought everything had already been completed. AC Milan also had documents signed by some executive figures from Corinthians who, according to the Brazilian club, do not have the decision-making authority or signing power to finalize a deal."
Fabrizio Romano added:
"That’s where the discussion got stuck. Milan believed it had signed André for a fee just under €15 million, with bonuses that would bring it to €17 million. Then the media noise in Brazil, along with statements from the coach and the president, led Corinthians to raise the price. Milan says: we have already signed, we already have an agreement. Corinthians says that this agreement was not signed by the president, who is the only person who can officially approve deals. Clearly this change of stance has not been appreciated. Within the next few days there will be an ultimatum: either the operation goes through on Milan’s terms or it risks collapsing."
