After the victory in the derby against Inter Milan, the Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani and head coach Massimiliano Allegri had a lunch during which they discussed both the main current issues and the future of AC Milan. Naturally, the two also talked about the upcoming summer transfer window, for which the club, between player sales and revenue from returning to the UEFA Champions League, aims to have at least €100 million to invest.
According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning, with a return to Europe’s top competition becoming increasingly likely, Milan knows well that the squad must not only be expanded to handle a match every three days, but also strengthened with players who bring quality and leadership. The idea would be to make one major signing per department. In attack, they need a ready-made striker who knows Serie A and can guarantee a certain number of goals. The first name on the list is Moise Kean of ACF Fiorentina, who at Milanello would reunite with Allegri, with whom he already worked for several years at Juventus FC. An alternative option for the attacking department remains Dušan Vlahović, whose contract with the Bianconeri expires at the end of this season.
What about the Defense and midfield of AC Milan?
Allegri had already asked for a defensive reinforcement in January, but that request was not fulfilled. In the summer things should go differently and at least one reinforcement will arrive. Among the profiles most appreciated at the club’s headquarters is certainly former SSC Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, now at FC Bayern Munich, while the alternative track leads to Mario Gila of SS Lazio. Finally, in midfield, while waiting to learn what Luka Modrić will decide to do, one valid option remains Leon Goretzka, an experienced midfielder who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and could therefore arrive at Milanello on a free transfer, like the Croatian last summer.
