Allegri’s Milan – Structure without a sharpened attack

There is a paradox that accompanies Allegri's Milan this season. A contradiction that clearly reflects the Rossoneri's current state: the team has regained structure, balance, and solidity, but it has not yet found true attacking consistency.

If the goal of the summer was to restore order after a difficult season that ended in eighth place, then it can be said that the first step has been achieved. Allegri has rebuilt a more compact, more disciplined team, less fragile in the delicate moments of matches. Milan concedes little, almost always stays within games, and rarely loses control of the result.

Within that broader context, and especially for supporters who follow the game with added intensity through betting platforms, the experience often extends beyond the stadium. Platforms like this one, https://mostbetonline.pk/download-app/, have become part of how some fans engage with football, offering access to markets across over 30 sports, including cricket and football, along with multiple banking options, bonuses, and competitive odds.

This is a Milan that closely resembles the historic teams of the ex Juventus head coach: pragmatic, organized, and difficult to beat. However, just when the team's foundation finally seems solid, the real technical issue of the season emerges. A weakness that becomes especially visible when things aren't going well, as is only natural.

AC Milan and the attack that has not yet found a leader:

It has already been discussed, but the issue keeps resurfacing. Milan's attacking department remains a major uncertainty. There are no shortage of options, but none has yet taken on the role of undisputed reference point.

Leao remains the face of the team, both for better and worse. Allegri has tried to redefine his role, moving him closer to goal and turning him into an unconventional striker. The numbers are not negative, but the Portuguese forward has not yet managed to consistently express that devastating ability on the left wing that made the difference in previous years. To complicate matters, there are also some physical issues that have limited his explosiveness. Then there were the events of Lazio-Milan, which, as happened a year ago, fueled off-field controversy that certainly does not help the atmosphere.

With Pulisic, it seems everything is settled, but what is still missing is on-field chemistry, which this year has been reduced to a minimum. The American remains one of Milan's most unpredictable weapons. He has not scored since the first half of the season, however. When fit, he is hard to leave out, but his season has been marked by several physical setbacks that have prevented Allegri from having him available at all times, just like Leao. And the attacking leader is still missing.

Not to mention Nkunku, who alternates between convincing performances and more anonymous ones; Fullkrug, who is often not in condition and does not seem to be favored by Allegri as a starter; and Gimenez, who has just returned from injury but is unlikely to establish himself as a permanent starter in AC Milan's attack. And above all, his numbers are unlikely to fully solve the Rossoneri team's problems.

AC Milan must find its attacking leader:

This explains the true paradox of Allegri's Milan. The team has rediscovered order and competitiveness, but it still lacks a player capable of carrying the attack week after week. This is, paradoxically, what best represents Allegri's philosophy of simple football. Finding a striker who solves all problems with goals is perhaps the simplest thing in modern football. But Milan have been unable to find one for years.

In top leagues, teams that make the final leap are often those that find their offensive reference point: a striker or a talent capable of becoming the balance point of the entire system. Milan have been missing this for far too long. And it's not a matter of quality, because the squad does have talent, and still does. It is more a question of hierarchy and consistency. No one manages to hold that role for more than a certain period. Why is that?

Today, Milan is a team that has started working again. But to truly complete the journey begun by Allegri, something more will be needed: someone who definitively takes responsibility for the attack. And who will that be? Because if order has returned, the real step forward will inevitably depend on that.
