Recently, the goal droughts of Milan’s forwards have been analyzed, calculated up to next April 6, Easter Monday, when the Rossoneri will take to the field at the “Maradona” to face Napoli in the 31st round of the Serie A Enilive championship. The player who has gone the least time without scoring is also the most criticized: Rafa Leao, who has been without a goal for 36 days. The others follow. An attacking department that has been under the spotlight all season: it is what has been most lacking for Allegri and what cannot be lacking in the final two months nor next season.

Pulisic with whom?

This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport already looked ahead to the big match of the next league round, after the break, and took stock of who could be decisive for the Rossoneri up front. As things stand, more than ten days before the match, the only player certain of a starting spot is Christian Pulisic. The American, who has not scored since the end of December, showed good signs in the last match and is physically in good condition. But who will play alongside him? There are two options. The more likely one at the moment is Christopher Nkunku: a colorless season for him, with a few peaks, certainly nothing outstanding considering the 37 million paid by Milan to sign him. The other is Niclas Fullkrug, although the German, who has not scored since mid-January, is actually more likely to be used as an impact substitute during the game.

Both Nkunku and Fullkrug will have a lot at stake in the next eight league matches: for the Frenchman, there is the need to convince those around the club that he can be a Milan-level striker, but his lack of consistency this season suggests otherwise; for the German, on the other hand, there is a pending buyout clause from West Ham, and it is hard to imagine that today Milan could keep the player by spending 5 million. Rafael Leao and Santiago Gimenez also have a lot at stake. Both, ahead of the match against Napoli, are at 50%: the first is dealing with a setback due to his usual muscular issues, the second is coming out of a long injury spell. These are two very different situations, but it is likely that for them as well, this end of the season will be decisive for their future.
