There’s a worrying statistic in the Rossoneri team's second half of the season so far, which has seen 11 matches played. From Fiorentina-Milan to Milan-Torino, Allegri’s team has scored just 15 goals and conceded 8. The average goals scored per game has dropped from 1.68 in the first half of the season (32 goals in 19 matches) to 1.36.
Milan are struggling to score: no player has more than two goals in the second half of the season
Looking at individual performances in this period, no Milan player has scored more than twice. The Rossoneri’s top scorers are Pavlovic, Loftus-Cheek, Rabiot, Leão, and Nkunku, all with two goals each, as relayed via Milan Press.
This is a clear issue for Milan, who also have the second-worst attack among the top five teams in the standings, with 47 goals in 30 matches (an average of 1.56). On the other hand, their defense is performing well: 23 goals conceded in 30 matches makes it the second-best defense, behind Como, who have conceded 22. That’s one fewer goal conceded than league leaders Inter (23).
Allegri is preaching calm, but he is already working with the club to plan the next transfer window, which will likely require reinforcements in attack to solve the scoring problem that has been affecting Milan for some time.
