Luca Bianchin, a journalist, shared his thoughts in La Gazzetta dello Sport about the future of Santiago Giménez:
“Santiago Giménez is one of the two players signed by AC Milan over the past 14 months to play as a center-forward. You already know how it has gone: a lot of work for the team, six goals in his first five months, only one this season, many doubts in his mind, and surgery on his right ankle. Giménez returned last weekend and is still valued by Massimiliano Allegri: he will get playing time, certainly coming off the bench, and sooner or later also as a starter. With the three-man attack becoming increasingly fashionable, he could have even more chances. It could also benefit him in terms of the transfer market. Last summer, Santi said ‘no, thanks’ to transfer offers, and this coming summer he may have to make a decision again. If he stays, he would start as a backup, no longer as a first-choice starter.”
