The international break, especially the last one, which comes very close to the end of the season, is always a good opportunity to talk about the transfer market. This year, even more so for Milan, since, before the match against Torino, which they won 3-2, there was a first meeting at Casa Milan focused specifically on operations and future prospects, attended by Massimiliano Allegri along with almost the entire Rossoneri management: Furlani, Tare, and even Ibrahimovic. Some guidelines and a few names emerged.
Karetsas on the AC Milan radar:
One of the profiles noted in the Milan management’s notebook, shared by all parties involved, is that of the 18-year-old Greek Konstantinos Karetsas. Those at Tuttosport report that Milan has been tracking this very young playmaker for at least a year. He has already earned his place in the Greek national team and is excelling at Genk. He can also be used as a second striker or as a right winger and would be one of those signings that fall into the “prospective talent” category. It’s worth noting that, compared to others, he would already come with a solid foundation: just this season, he has played 43 matches across the league, cups, and Europa League, scoring 3 goals and providing 18 assists. In short, for a player born in 2007, that’s already a decent amount of experience.
Competition and high price
For a talent like this, however, heavy competition is inevitable. Karetsas is a highly sought-after player, especially in the Premier League, where top clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are tracking him. This is coupled with a fairly high transfer price, especially relative to his age: the Belgian club will ask for no less than 35 million euros. Ultimately, it will be up to Milan to make all the necessary evaluations, also knowing that the market will require strengthening several areas of the pitch. Early estimates suggest that Allegri’s Rossoneri would need at least: one or two central defenders, a central midfielder, at least one winger, and, of course, a striker.
