In recent weeks, the Dusan Vlahovic link to Milan seemed to have cooled off, but in fact the Rossoneri, without drawing too much attention, appear to be seriously trying to snatch the Serbian striker from Juventus. Sportmediaset.it reports that the club, which is constantly looking for a new centre-forward ahead of the next season, is attempting to insert itself into the negotiations between the player and the Bianconeri over a contract renewal set to expire on 30 June.
Juventus’ idea is a contract extension of at most two years, with a salary significantly reduced from the 12 million euros he currently earns, reportedly around 6.5–7 million euros per season excluding bonuses. The fee to be paid to his agent Ristic is still to be determined; in the past, this has always been the biggest obstacle to finalising Vlahovic’s renewal. In recent weeks, however, there have been no new contacts between the parties, and so Milan is trying to step in to persuade the Serbian to reunite at Milanello with his former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.
To outwit Juventus, the Rossoneri are reportedly ready to match the salary offer, or even increase it slightly, and instead of a two-year deal, they would offer a three-year contract, one year longer than what the Turin club is proposing. Furthermore, in recent days Milan has closed a deal with his agent Ristic for the arrival of the very young Andrej Kostic (born 2007), which might also have been an opportunity to discuss Vlahovic. From a financial perspective, this would be a very costly operation that could have a significant impact on Milan’s budget. However, according to Sportmediaset.it, two factors must be considered: first, a good-level striker costs no less than 50 million euros, and second, at the end of the season Rafael Leao could leave Milan, freeing up a salary equivalent to the offer made to the Serbian.
