They won’t be at the Maradona, but they want to be at Milanello to show their support for the team. The Curva Sud Milano posted a statement on its Instagram stories criticising the decision to ban away travel for Lombardy residents, while also calling on all Rossoneri fans: on Saturday, the day before Napoli–Milan, everyone should gather in Carnago to support the team.
The Curva Sud’s statement: "Everyone to Milanello on Saturday"
“As everyone knows, we are once again faced with a senseless decision, taken without any logic by those who, unable to manage public order, prefer to ban away travel without any real justification, hiding behind the usual phrase ‘high risk to public order and safety’. It’s a shame that for decades we have travelled to Naples without any issues, and today we are forced to stay at home, with dozens of coaches to cancel, deposits lost, and the team left to fend for itself, all without a valid reason."
"Institutions and the Lega Serie A have long preached an inclusive vision of football, promoting loyalty programmes, yet every Sunday they impose pre-emptive travel bans, even for those with membership cards, even discriminating against fans based on their region of residence. Therefore, being forced to stay at home, we invite Rossoneri fans living in other regions to do the same," as relayed via Milan Press.
The Curva Sud Milano statement concluded:
"We have nevertheless decided to support the team ahead of a very important match: the meeting point for everyone is at Milanello on Saturday morning at 10:30 for the team’s training session before departure for Naples.”
