In Milan there is a player who hasn’t scored for a long, far too long, time. We are talking about Christian Pulisic, who, after a fast-paced start to the season, has struggled to make an impact in 2026. In fact, his statistics are negative, and he has yet to find the net.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport discusses this, headlining:
"American involution"
The American hasn’t scored in three months, and his last goal for the USA dates back to 2024. After signs of a recovery, another flop. Max Allegri hopes he can bounce back for the season’s finale.
The heavy defeat of the United States against Belgium leaves traces not only in the scoreline (5-2 in favour of the Europeans) but also in the more personal, intimate side of Christian Pulisic’s story. In an interview with The Athletic, he spoke about the challenging moment he is experiencing in front of goal, both for Milan and the national team.
The American is, however, confident that he will eventually turn things around and return to being decisive, as he himself confirmed to The Athletic: "I have to be more clinical, for sure, in those moments. It’s frustrating for me, it’s been a tough patch. But I feel confident in the way I’m playing. And I feel good. And I’m creating chances. So I just have to stay positive and keep going. I know a ball will hit off my knee and go in, and then things will change. So I’m not going to panic. Better now than this summer. Things are going to change."
