Important team news is emerging for Milan ahead of tomorrow evening’s match at the “Maradona” stadium against Napoli. According to Peppe Di Stefano on Sky Sport 24, Massimiliano Allegri is considering reshaping the Rossoneri attack, with the pairing of Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku tested today within the 3-5-2 system set to be used. Yesterday, during the open training session, Allegri had shown some hints of a 4-3-3, but that now appears to have been a deliberate smokescreen in view of tomorrow’s game.
Napoli-Milan, Leão and Pulisic set for the bench
Therefore, if the choice of the Füllkrug–Nkunku duo is confirmed, the big names, Rafael Leão (not yet at peak fitness) and Christian Pulisic (who only returned on Friday from international duty with the USA), would start on the bench, though they could certainly be brought on during the match. Joining them will also be Santiago Giménez, whose physical condition has further improved during the international break, which he spent at Milanello working to raise his level. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been called up, while Matteo Gabbia has not travelled to Napoli; his return to full training is expected on Tuesday, as Allegri stated in the press conference.
