Luca Bianchin, a journalist for 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', spoke to allMilan.it about AC Milan’s transfer market, with the club expected to make several signings this summer to strengthen the squad ahead of the European season:
“This is the big topic of the summer. Looking at the past, Milan have made very different choices. They have signed some players with pure experience, already established, perhaps requested by the coach, around thirty years old and with strong international experience. Then they have also signed other players as part of a long-term project.
The summer is a very complicated period, much more than fans might think. Milan need to strengthen the team and at the same time deepen the squad for a season with two competitions. I believe that, if it were up to Massimiliano Allegri, even though he tends not to speak publicly about these matters, he would go for four experienced players, with the rest as supporting additions.
"I am curious to see what the club will do. A project that tries to combine both approaches is fascinating and probably a rational path. However, there is a risk factor: the experienced players you sign must be the right ones, because they are needed not so much for long-term growth, but for immediate impact, especially in September and October, when the direction of a season is already being set.”
