Igli Tare spoke to DAZN before the Napoli-Milan match. Here are the statements from the Rossoneri’s sporting director.
On Napoli-Milan:
“Two great teams are playing, and the league table reflects that as well. Tonight will be a spectacle. We need to be smart and understand that there’s a lot at stake in the standings, especially after Juventus’ win—things have shifted. Tonight is crucial for us, and why not aim to leave with a victory.”
On the new Fullkrug-Nkunku partnership:
“There’s nothing surprising about it. They are both important players, just like the other forwards in our squad. The best thing for Allegri today is having so many options," said Tare.
When looking at the table, do you look up or down?
“I try to look upwards rather than downwards, by nature. But the table tells its own story, and we have to be careful. Playing in a stadium like this, with a crowd like this… there’s nothing better for a player. Tonight we have to do everything possible to win.”
How do you assess Leao’s season? Tare answered:
“We talk about Leao almost every week. His qualities are unquestionable, but his problem this season has been many injuries that haven’t allowed him to perform at his best. He’s been out for two weeks, trained with the team for the last three days, and we included him on the bench because he’s an important player who can make a difference during the match.”
On Leao’s future:
“As far as I know, he has a contract for another two years. He’s a very important player for Milan.”
