Mario Gila has been one of the main names on Milan and Inter’s shortlist for strengthening their defence for several months, but Lazio might decide not to let him go.
Lazio is considering keeping Gila until his contract expires
According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Spanish centre-back is considered a valuable asset by the Biancocelesti and will not be sold cheaply, even though his contract runs until June 2027.
The possible asking price and the resale issue
The asking price could be around 25–30 million euros, and Lotito’s approach, as always, is not to offer discounts: a risky move given the possibility of losing him for nothing the following year, but one that has paid off in the past.
The decision is heavily influenced by the fact that 50% of any transfer fee must go to Real Madrid, meaning the net revenue for the club would never be the full amount.
