After the defeat against Napoli, Milan must bounce back immediately: the objective is to beat Udinese at San Siro on Saturday to strengthen their position in the Champions League spots. In the first days of training at Milanello, Matteo Gabbia has returned to working regularly with his teammates and will therefore be available for tomorrow’s match against the Friulian side.
It could be a Milan side ready to significantly change their tactical setup, given that in recent days Massimiliano Allegri has been persistently testing a 4-3-3 formation. In this system, Athekame could start on the right instead of a fatigued Saelemaekers, while the central defensive pairing may consist of De Winter (currently slightly ahead of Gabbia) and Pavlovic. On the left, Bartesaghi is favoured over Estupiñán.
In midfield, Ricci could join the Modrić–Rabiot duo. Up front, there may be a major surprise with a three-man attack. In recent days, Allegri had tried a front line featuring Leão on the left, Pulisic on the right, and one of Füllkrug or Giménez through the middle. However, the Rossoneri coach could opt for an "unconventional" trio, with Pulisic, Leão as a central striker, and Saelemaekers deployed wide on the right.
