There are plenty of very low marks for AC Milan in the player ratings compiled this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport. It could hardly be otherwise after the truly poor performance the Rossoneri (failed to) put on the pitch yesterday at San Siro against Udinese, suffering the humiliation of a clear and unquestionable 0–3 defeat.

Despite this, the paper still gives two players a rating of 6. One is goalkeeper Mike Maignan, considered blameless and even effective in preventing a heavier scoreline. The other is Christian Pulisic, who is actually judged the best among the Rossoneri. This is the assessment of the American:

“For one half he’s the only one with a sharp edge: the cross messed up by Leão, the shot that goes just wide. Then he too gives in.”

The worst performer is Rafael Leão, who receives a 4:

“The mitigating factor of being played out of position, but the way he wastes the potential 1–1 is emblematic of his current moment. Confused and frustrating.”

Koni De Winter and Adrien Rabiot, however, fare no better, receiving the same rating. About the Belgian defender, it reads:

"Poor on the 0–2, dreadful on the 0–3. The growing impression is that he’s not Milan quality, due to technical and concentration limits."

Very poor marks (4.5) also go to Alexis Saelemaekers and Samuele Ricci, followed by a string of 5s. The only players between 5 and 6 are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Luka Modrić, as relayed via Milan News.

Unsurprisingly, Massimiliano Allegri is also heavily criticised, as the captain of a ship that has sunk. The ex Juventus head coach receives a 4, with the following judgement:

"More than the 4-3-3, he gets the initial composition of the front three wrong, with Leão once again as centre-forward. The corrections? Too little, too late."
