AC Milan's Paulo Fonseca managed to beat Simone Inzaghi's Inter in the derby, tactically. Thanks to bold choices of the Portuguese tactician last Sunday, Milan finally broke their rivals' winning streak in the derby.
The former Roma and Lille boss deployed two strikers: Tammy Abraham and Alvaro Morata. He also decided to trust Matteo Gabbia in defence with Fikayo Tomori while sticking with the midfield duo Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana as starters.
Andrea Stramaccioni, former Inter and Udinese head coach spoke about Milan's derby victory and said these words to DAZN:
"The midfield duo: Fofana and Reijnders were perfect. They are complementary interceptor and playmaker, carrying significant tactical weight in the defensive phase, further exacerbated by the quality and potential numerical superiority of the three Inter midfielders, who are among the best in Europe."
Stramacciano continued to talk about Milan:
"What I would ask Zlatan if I meet him? I would ask him how his mindset has changed in terms of influencing the situation, moving from the field to a broader perspective that, obviously, as a player, one cannot have."
