AC Milan arrives at the break in the worst way possible, with two consecutive defeats: the first in the Champions League away to Bayer Leverkusen and the second in the league against Fiorentina.
It is a really difficult time for the Rossoneri who do not seem to be able to find consistency.
Italian journalist Michele Criscitiello of SportItalia commented on AC Milan's moment. Here is what he had to say:
"If the club believes in Fonseca, they cannot question him until the derby. Then they consider him the coach of the present and the future because he wins the derby. Then they question him again because he loses in the Champions League and loses badly in Florence. Milan did not make a mistake in confirming Fonseca; Milan made a mistake in hiring Fonseca when Conte was right outside Casa Milan doing this (crossed arms gesture.). That’s where Milan went wrong. Now, if you dismiss Fonseca, you make a huge mistake because there’s no alternative; De Zerbi is in France, Conte is first in the standings with Napoli. If you hired Fonseca, you have to stick with him until the end of the season. Unfortunately, Milan can win against Inter because of the individual players; their value is significant. If Theo, Leao, and Pulisic decide to step on the field: that team is strong. Milan loses consistency and regularity in performance."
He continued to talk about Milan's difficulties:
"They win 3-0 against Lecce but only perform for three minutes; they win 4-0 against Venezia but only play well for ten minutes. In the Champions League, they lose to Liverpool playing for four minutes, and you saw what happened against Fiorentina..."
