Before the Milan - Udinese match kickoff, the AC Milan head coach, Paulo Fonseca, spoke about the starting lineup.
"If it is a message? No. just the desire to win the game with the players I believe are the best at this moment to face a team like Udinese," he said to DAZN. "These are just choices for the match."
On Noah Okafor and Christian Pulisic, he said:
"Pulisic will play in a more central area, he has the characteristics to do that. Noah will play on the left."
On the international break, Fonseca said:
"I always want them to play with us so they can learn. The break is always difficult for a team like Milan because we’re left with only 5-6 players, and I would have liked to have the full squad available to work with. We need everyone today to help the team."
On Rafael Leao being on the bench for the match against Udinese, the Portuguese coach said the following:
"We have many matches now. The next one is in the Champions League, and I think we need everyone. Today I chose Okafor, and we’ll see how the next match goes."
