The Italian Association of Milan Clubs have announced that there will be no banners displayed in today's match against Club Brugge at the San Siro.
Here's the official statement of the AIMC:
"After the embarrassing behaviour of the club in recent days, AIMC will not display any banners today. We want to clarify, unlike what some journalists have reported, that our association has a legally recognized relationship with AC Milan (it has been an official partner since 1967) and that AIMC has never received tickets at discounted prices. Instead, we have a small allocation of tickets for home games, tickets sold at the "pre-sale for season ticket holders" rate (therefore at the same price as all other season ticket holders), to partially meet the countless requests from the over 50,000 members of Milan Clubs worldwide.
Starting from the match against Juventus, AIMC has experienced a drastic reduction in ticket availability, and on top of that, we have been charged the "open sale" rate, just like any casual fan or, even worse, like the hundreds of Juventus fans who will fill San Siro.
We are not cash cows to be milked; we don’t just exist to fill the stadium when the games are meaningless. We don’t exist just to fill the museum at Casa Milan or to fill the San Siro parking lot with nearly 120 buses every time there is a home game, and we are certainly not just fans who only care about Coca-Cola and popcorn, as some would have us be…
WE were founded almost 60 years ago with the intent of always being present and close to the team, supporting the red and black colors wherever they go, and we cannot passively accept everything that this club is putting into place. Preference is being given to wealthy foreign tourists or casual fans who spend on Milan once a year, instead of those who have made real sacrifices for years to always follow their team. We constantly hear complaints that families are no longer going to the stadium, but have you done the math???!!!
We hope for a swift change in direction from the management, because we refuse to believe that the club is happy to have a stadium like it was in the first 80 minutes on Saturday.
Sempre Forza Milan!
AIMC
Italian Association of Milan Clubs"
