Tuttosport's published the following headline in this morning's print edition:
"No game in Bologna. Milan isn't pleased."
After a long day of discussions, Serie A has decided to postpone the match between the Rossoblu and the Rossoneri, scheduled for today at 6 PM CEST, to an unspecified date.
The President of the Serie A League announced, "Given the decision of the League Council held today, in which Serie A acknowledges the Ordinance of the Mayor of Bologna No. 761919/2024, which prohibits the match from being held, even behind closed doors, the Serie A Enilive Bologna-Milan game, scheduled for October 26, 2024, at 6:00 PM, will be postponed to a future date."
Milan was not at all pleased with the decision after pushing throughout the day to play behind closed doors or, if necessary, at a neutral venue (Como and Empoli were discussed at length).
Paolo Scaroni, Milan's president, commented yesterday as he left the Serie A offices:
"The game is postponed because the mayor, in my opinion with an incomprehensible decision, prohibited it from being played even behind closed doors. I don’t understand why. Faced with the mayor’s ordinance, we bow our heads."
