The Italian newspaper, Il Corriere della Sera, in today's print edition, spoke about AC Milan's win away from home against AC Monza.

It was a hard fought victory. Tijjani Reijnders scores with a header, and Rafael Leao started from the bench again. The Portuguese player, however, came on and squandered three chances.

It was a grueling match for the Rossoneri: a nerve-wracking first half, but in the end, Milan returns from the Monza derby with their first away win of the season and three crucial points to breathe life into a still-stagnant standings.

Seventh place, out of Europe: this is not good enough for Milan. No one can be satisfied, starting with the ownership.

Against Monza, the decider came from an increasingly central figure, Tijjani Reijnders, with a header at the end of the first half—a flash of brilliance in the darkness. As for Mike Maignan, he was pivotal, making a phenomenal save against Pereira at 0-0, rescuing his team and putting behind him a poor showing against Napoli.

CEO Adriano Galliani was furious with the referee for a disallowed goal at 0-0.

As for head coach Alessandro Nesta, he was equally angry at the refereeing, "Crazy regulations."

The biggest disappointment for Paulo Fonseca's Milan

The biggest disappointment was the (lack of) play itself: few and confused ideas. For long stretches, Monza looked like Milan, or rather, what Milan should aspire to be, in Fonseca’s vision: a team that attacks, pushes, and looks for goals. Instead, only struggle.

Tuesday at the Bernabéu, against Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr, playing like this poses a big risk.
