The debate about Milan's season remains open, partly due to the direct responsibility of a team that takes one step forward and then three steps back, as described via Milannews.it.

Among the criticisms leveled at the club is the notion that they have built a squad with few options in the midfield, where Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders are often called upon to go the extra mile. This objection can be partially accepted because Milan does have a midfielder with those characteristics, but he is injured—Ismael Bennacer.

In agreement with the Federation and Milan, Bennacer flew to Qatar in Doha around October 20th to undergo rehabilitation at the Aspetar clinic (which he had visited about two years after his knee injury) following a severe calf injury and surgery to repair the muscle tear. Ismael himself reassured his followers with an Instagram post that read:

"I'm here at Aspetar, and I'm here to work, to do my rehabilitation. Everything is going well and I will keep in touch soon and I will see you soon on the pitch. Thank you very much, thanks to everyone for supporting me and you will see I will come back stronger. Let's go, only thing that talks is the pitch."

The Rossoneri number 4 appeared more determined than ever to reclaim what bad luck has taken from him over the last two seasons, plagued by too many injuries.

When will Ismael Bennacer return from injury?

The final phase of Bennacer's rehabilitation will take place at Milan's facilities in Milanello. According to reports, the Algerian international should be available for Fonseca between the end of December and the beginning of the new year.
