During the usual episode of the podcast 'Cronache di Spogliatoio' called 'Fontana di Trevi', Mediaset journalist Riccardo Trevisani spoke about Rafael Leao, who seems to have returned to his best form following his recent performances for Milan and Portugal:

"Guys, are you kidding me? You should take Leao's last 4-5 matches with the national team and show them to an audience like a movie preview. You go to the cinema, and the first 15 minutes are the best highlights of Leao's last four games for Portugal. It’s something unbelievably beautiful, even before he started doing great things again with Milan. For those saying he’s playing well because he was benched at Milan—no. Even during the October break, he had two phenomenal games with Portugal. So it’s not the bench that improved him; it’s Leao deciding to play football and play it well."

On Rafael Leao, Trevisani said:

"A series of things he’s done in these matches: the header that broke the deadlock, the only relevant goal of that game—a header by Leao—at 0-0 in the 50th minute. He scored the decisive goal of that match, starting from his own penalty area, sprinting 60 meters, opening to the left, and finishing the play by getting the return ball to score the 1-0. Stuff of an absolute world-class player."

"Leao is capable of those kind of peaks"

"He is that kind of player, capable of those kinds of peaks. He reminds me of Alcaraz, but without the excuse of being born in 2003. He has the highs but hasn’t often had the consistency. He’s finding it now, and hopefully, he won’t end up back on the bench, because that 1-0 goal against Poland by Rafael is something neither Musah nor Loftus-Cheek could produce."
