Milan's summer transfer window concluded with a loan swap with Roma involving Alexis Saelemaekers and Tammy Abraham. And who knows, there might soon be another operation between the Rossoneri and the Giallorossi: the Roman club, in fact, is keen on acquiring the Belgian permanently.

Instead of paying the €15–18 million transfer fee for the former Anderlecht player, they are considering offering Bryan Cristante to the RedBird-owned club, as reported by Tuttosport.

What is AC Milan's stance regarding Bryan Cristante potential transfer?

The midfielder, who came up through Milan’s youth academy, is no longer part of Roma and Claudio Ranieri's plans. For this reason, a departure in January cannot be ruled out. The Rossoneri, as is well-known, is looking for reinforcements in midfield, where they lack an alternative to Youssouf Fofana. For this reason, Roma’s sporting director Ghisolfi is considering proposing Cristante’s transfer to the Rossoneri. At Trigoria, there is deliberation, but the conviction is growing that this might be the right move to retain Saelemaekers.

What will Milan decide?

This situation also calls for significant reflection because, while the 1995-born player does not align with RedBird's parameters, signing him would mean bringing in a player who is already familiar with the environment and the Italian league. Moreover, Cristante could also be valuable for roster registration, as he qualifies as a homegrown player.
