The recent Supercoppa Italiana victory has got many people thinking about AC Milan, and the Italian club’s most significant achievements. Of course, the team is among the most celebrated in Europe, and certainly, one of the top clubs that Italy has to offer. They are consistently touted as the main rivals of Inter Milan and Juventus, and have quite an impressive track record.

With football being the most popular betting sport in the world, it might not shock many to learn that AC Milan is a favorite to place wagers on. Any of the most popular sports betting sites that offer football odds, will have rated AC Milan highly.
This respect comes from the club’s numerous achievements. But, what are the biggest ones in the club’s history?
The most recent one
As it is still fresh in people’s minds, we should talk about the Supercoppa Italiana victory first. AC Milan and their long-time rivals, Inter Milan faced off in the final, in a game that got a 7-minute extension.
Within the first 45 minutes, there was not a single goal scored, as both clubs were desperate to maintain a powerful defense. However, that all changed right before the halftime. Yet, it wasn’t Rossoneri that scored the first goal, but rather Inter.
With a 1 – 0 disadvantage, AC Milan went into the second half, and quickly felt a second blow, as Mehdi scored another goal for the opposing team. Most clubs would have lost any sense of motivation in this instance. However, the boys in Rossoneri felt a surge of excitement. The rest of the game was an AC Milan domination party, with Hernandez scoring the first goal. This goal would change the course of the game, eventually leading to a 2 – 3 score, and cementing AC Milan as the new Supercoppa Italiana champions.
The distant Past
We took a look at a recent game. But AC Milan has been kicking for over a century, and they’ve racked up a slew of impressive moments. As we said, Rossoneri serves as a rival, not just to Inter Milan, but also to to Juventus, and this has been true for as long as the clubs have held dominance in the football world. So, on a rainy, muddy, grey day in 1950, Juventus and AC Milan faced off in Turin. It must not feel good to lose to a visiting team. It certainly does not feel good to suffer such a devastating loss.
It was during this game in 1950 that AC Milan managed to achieve a score difference of six points. While Juventus were able to score a single goal, Rossoneri kept breaking the net, eventually ending with a score of 1 – 7. During this game, the legendary Gunnar Nordahl also managed to perform a hat trick, cementing himself, and his club at the time, as absolute legends. There is no doubt that this game was one of AC Milan’s most impressive achievements.
A Millennium Turn
The turn of the millennium was a legendary moment for those who experienced it. Pop culture was obsessed with “the new era.” It was also during the first year of the new millennium (2001), that AC Milan got another of the most iconic wins in Italian football history. We, once again, return to look at the rivalry between Inter and Rossoneri, in a game that took place during Italy’s national league, the Serie A. Widely considered one of the most popular domestic leagues in Europe, the Serie A is broadcast internationally, so many must have seen this epic moment in real time.
During the game, Inter Milan was blocked from scoring even a single goal. Certainly, there have been times when a defensive line-up is so strong, that scoring a goal is impossible. Many games end in a 0-0 after all. However, what made Inter’s inability to score all the worse was that Rossoneri managed to get six goals in total. In other words, the final score of the match was an astonishing 0 – 6 in AC Milan’s favor. Certainly an incredible achievement, and one of the reasons why the Italian club is often lauded as one of the best in the world.
