Between Milan and Feyenoord, the battle for Santiago Gimenez did not end with the first offer, which was rejected by the Dutch club.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Mexican striker’s agent, Raffaella Pimenta, wants to leverage a promise made to the player last summer regarding Feyenoord’s willingness to accommodate him in the event of an offer from a major European club. And in the mind of the talented 2001-born forward, that big club is undoubtedly Milan.

The second offer will be made tonight by Giorgio Furlani if the Rossoneri qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals. The club intends to raise the stakes and reach €35-40 million—not all immediately and guaranteed, but with bonuses—coming close to the amount requested by the Dutch side.

The remaining 72 hours will be crucial for Milan and Santiago Gimenez

Furlani’s absence from the Champions League trip to Zagreb is further confirmation that negotiations are more alive than ever. It’s a tough deal, perhaps more complicated than expected, but it has certainly entered the operational phase. The Rossoneri board is working intensely on the second offer for Feyenoord, with the awareness that no final decision will come before Thursday.

At this stage, Santiago Gimenez has given absolute priority to Milan.

His goal is to play in the derby against Inter on February 2. The talented forward has put on hold several offers from France, the Premier League, and the Saudi Pro League. While waiting for Thursday, Gimenez has already made things clear, relying on an agreement with Milan for a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year, worth €2.5 million per season, as per Calciomercato.com.
