Speaking to the media is Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a press conference in view of the presentation of Santiago Gimenez. Here's what he had to say:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic immediately takes the floor to introduce Santiago Gimenez:

"Hello everyone. We are here to present Milan’s new striker. We have been following him for a long time, even in the summer we tried, but it wasn’t possible. Today he is here, and that is the most important thing. He has great quality, and now he will introduce himself because otherwise, they’ll say I put too much pressure on him (smiles)."

What do you expect after this transfer window? Ibrahimovic replied:

"Yesterday was an intense day, but always under control. I have to thank everyone because we did a great job and accomplished everything we wanted. We are not happy with our position in the standings, so we made five signings and five departures. This is the team that must change the situation."

Has Milan reduced the gap with the teams ahead after the transfer window?

"We have strengthened the squad. Whether we have reduced the gap, we will see. We did everything in dialogue with the coach. In my opinion, we have significantly improved the team."

This was your first transfer window as a protagonist...

"It was intense and interesting. There were many moves, and you have to do everything before the deadline. What we did is more or less what we had planned. We are doing a great job as a team. In the end, results will speak for themselves."

What has been missing in these first months of the season? Ibrahimovic commented:

"Consistency has been missing. When you win, you gain more confidence, but if you don’t, you have to start over and regain continuity. We've had ups and downs, but we are the only team with a trophy. Milan always plays to win, and when it wins, it lifts trophies."

There has been a real revolution. When did you decide to make it?

"When we started the season, we believed in what we had done. We are not satisfied with the situation, so we decided to change by bringing in several reinforcements. We are not happy—we have a trophy, but we are not satisfied. We want more, we are hungry."

Why so many signings at the end of the window?

"Every case is different. In a deal, there are three parties that must find an agreement. Some negotiations took longer, others were faster. Everyone arrived after speaking with the coach. Sottil’s deal was completed a minute and a half before the deadline, so I want to thank the lawyers and the administrative staff, who are doing a great job. They are young, hungry, and hardworking."

What’s behind Ismael Bennacer’s departure? Were there any problems with Sergio Conceição?

"He asked to leave. He was important for Milan, he had some injuries, and he returned at the end of December. He wanted a new adventure. If a player comes and wants to look for something else, he shouldn’t stay here. We looked for the best solution for both him and us."

What would you like to say to the fans? Ibrahimovic said:

"The last Scudetto we won was also thanks to the fans. We are stronger with the fans by our side; they are very important. We are working and doing everything we can to bring results. This team is stronger with the fans. We won the last Scudetto even though many didn’t even see us as a top-four team, but we won it with the push of the fans."

In the Champions League, you’ve drawn Feyenoord…

"It would have been better to win in Zagreb; we would have played two fewer matches. When you sign a player, sometimes fate leads you to face his former team. The important thing is that Gimenez plays these games wearing the Milan jersey."

Your friend Adriano Galliani has often made transfer moves in the final days... Ibrahimovic commented:

"The transfer market is dynamic. Sometimes you push forward to achieve results. I worked with the number one, Mino Raiola. Today, I realize how strong he was compared to the others, no offense to them."

Press conference – Gimenez: “I want to leave my mark. Roma match? I’m ready”
