Kyle Walker, Warren Bondo, Joao Felix, Riccardo Sottil, Santiago Gimenez. In order of position, these are Milan's five signings from the recently concluded winter transfer window.

A window in which the Rossoneri started quietly, not without some criticism from fans and beyond, but ended as the kings of the market.

Around €46 million invested, five arrivals, and five departures. A true revolution, mirroring the one that began between the end of 2024 and the start of 2025, which saw the transition from Fonseca to Conceição on the bench. In between, a trophy was won, but also many uncertainties and a league position that is far from impressive, as relayed via MilanPress.it.

The phones and offices at Casa Milan were buzzing on the final day of the window.

In fact, it was one of the craziest in recent sessions. From the days of the "Condor" to those of Ibrahimovic, as someone recalled during Gimenez’s introductory press conference. A nod to the times when Adriano Galliani used the last hours to sniff out deals and opportunities that, one way or another, would materialize. Fans experienced a rollercoaster of emotions they hadn’t felt in a long time. Three arrivals and just as many last-minute departures.

There were also many players who were cast aside—Calabria, Morata, Bennacer, and Okafor among them. Some exits had been announced, others were real surprises, while some were driven by a desire for a change of scenery. Something happened between the pitch, the locker room, and the boardroom. Maybe we’ll never know what, and perhaps—this time without a doubt—that’s for the best.

Now, however, it’s no longer about negotiations, but about the football itself. And that’s the hardest part. Climbing back up a league table that doesn’t look favorable and recovering from a Champions League campaign that went from extraordinary to merely ordinary. The new signings are ready to lend a hand. Not all of them, but almost. Milan made their voice heard in the transfer market—now they need to do the same on the pitch.

What did Zlatan Ibrahimovic say about the transfer market deals recently?

"Yesterday was an intense day (deadline day, ed), but always under control. I have to thank everyone because we did a great job and accomplished everything we wanted. We are not happy with our position in the standings, so we made five signings and five departures. This is the team that must change the situation."
