On the pages of Corriere dello Sport, journalist Franco Ordine commented on Milan's transfer market:

"Raise your hand if anyone predicted, even in a limited way, what Milan under Ibrahimovic and Sergio Conceição, because these two were the architects of the Rossoneri's rebirth, achieved in the final days of the winter transfer market."

Ordine continued:

"No one saw it coming, and that's a scandal. In fact, there was widespread skepticism ('they won’t do much, the funds are watching the budget, let alone if they spend 35-40 million on a striker')—and now, in the face of the public and solemn disproof of the criticisms directed at the ownership fund, there are those who pretend nothing happened, following the old Italian custom! We must admit it: Milan and RedBird caught us off guard!"

Ibra and Moncada have effectively acknowledged the mistakes made last summer...

The mistakes? Starting with the choice of Emerson Royal and ending with the very limited contribution of Morata in terms of goals, not forgetting the trust placed in Fonseca, who was hired on a temporary contract without sharing in the squad-building process. Not only that. In the final days, when the first cracks appeared in the locker room (a row with Calabria, tensions with Bennacer, incompatibility with Morata), the club used a scalpel to make it clear to the rest of the team that the primacy lies with the club, which stands behind Conceição. Either with him, or out the gates of Milanello."

Ordine continued to talk about Milan:

"Now all these efforts, both financial and technical, will have to pass the decisive test, which is the one of results. Because at this point in the season, every failure will have an even heavier impact, and every failure to improve in terms of play will be classified as a failure of the operation."
