Geoffrey Moncada, Milan's technical director, spoke to SportMediaset ahead of the Coppa Italia match between Milan and Roma:
"It was very important to do something in the transfer market. We changed some players, adjusted some profiles, and restructured the team to give the coach more options. Expectations are high, starting with winning tonight's match. There's the Coppa Italia, the Champions League, and we need to get back on track in the league. It was important to act in the market."

How difficult was it to sign Santiago Gimenez? Moncada said:
"It was difficult. We had known him since his time at Cruz Azul, and we had always been in contact with him. In this transfer window, we knew there was a chance to sign him. But dealing with Dutch clubs is always difficult, as we also saw with Reijnders. Gimenez put in a lot of effort, he really pushed to come, along with his agent. He is a profile we know well and one we wanted."
Was he your idea?
"No, no, but it was important to bring in a number 9, and Santi fits that profile."
Is there a chance to sign João Félix permanently?
"It depends on us and on him. There's always a possibility. We have a very good relationship with Chelsea, so we'll see in the summer."
How important is the Coppa Italia? Moncada replied:
"Every competition is a target for us. Tonight, we have the chance to reach the semifinals—it's very important."
Could Samuel Chukwueze leave?
"He’s staying with us. He’s another option on the right."
